Removing Darkness at low levels

Does anyone know how to use HeroMods as so to remove the pitch black/fog you get at low levels of the minecraft map? I'm aware you can on optifine but I like the minimaps.

For now you need to just use optifine, as the other mods that are part of the modpack have not been updated to work with 1.7

Get optifine, go into settings, it's either in details or animations or something around there. Depth fog: off

How did you achieve this? I tried magic launcher and it didn't work too well/at all

Forge has a beta version that works with very few issues (none so far for me at all). The latest version of optifine to remove the fog and voxel's minimap mod will give you what you seek

Zan's aka Voxel's Minimap is what was included in the Modpack i downloaded when we were still 1.6.4 at the start of the new map. I had downloaded the modpack from a link in the forums (don't know where it was exactly) Did this change? and what exactly is illegal about it?

cave mapping is disabled by the server as well as player/mob locations. If this is illegal i apologize in advance as i was unaware since the 1.6.4 version came with the modpack

*edit* can i get some clairifcation on this please? i dont want to get banned for a misunderstanding. Thank you in advance!

Just to clear something up, this "darkness" you speak of is called void fog to clear up confusion.

It has entity radar. It was included, but was then replaced with Rei's and simultaneously made illegal. Don't use it.

Entity radar doesn't work? Or is disabled by the server. Either way its nothing but a blank map for me, regardless I will discontinue till otherwise notified. Can you post a link to a working version of Rei's please. Thank you.

It was included for about 1-2 days then removed and everyone was told to remove it and install Rei's instead.

I can confirm Voxel Minimap is illegal
