I make it a point to attend as many of the events hosted by Admin as I can, as they are generally enjoyable and usually lucrative for everybody involved. I have come up with a few suggestions that I feel could improve these events, so I thought I'd post them and see what we all think.
First; regarding the PvP vs Admins. This is a really good idea, in my opinion, however the flaw that I see personally is the fact that you cannot actively take part in this portion of the event without getting killed by other players. My suggestion for this is to make it to where while PvP-ing the admin during the event, other players cannot PvP each other. A majority of the time what I see happening is everybody crowds around the barrier of lawful area and non-lawful area while a few people go out and fight the Admin and/or each other. This leaves a large majority of the players at the event on the sideline, not because they don't want to participate in the battle with the Admin, but because they can't participate without being killed by other players. I myself have fallen victim to this, I attacked the admin during one of these events and was killed by the other players around me before the Admin could even respond to my attack. I have no issue dying vs the Admin, in fact I fully expect it, but I feel that it is ridiculous that we cannot all participate in the event vs the Admin because we are too worried about the other players who are just waiting around for someone else to attack the Admin so they can hunt them down (even all the way back to the center of Bastion) to kill them because they are combat tagged. I'm not sure how this could be accomplished, or if it is even possible, but I feel like it would make the PvP events vs the Admin exceedingly more fun for a large portion of the players who attend but cannot participate for the reasons I've described above.
Second is regarding the PvE mob armies. This one is more of thoughts rather than a full blown suggestion, as I'm not sure if it is really possible or plausible to implement. It seems to me that a majority of the players who attend the events do not gain any exp or more feasibly actually lose exp due to dying. While this is a risk we should all expect when charging into a massive hoard of mobs, the main point is that you generally do not gain any experience. Usually the higher level players (particularly the wizards and other classes with large radius area of effect spells) kill a good 90% of the mobs right after they spawn and gain no experience from it themselves. This leaves the other 10% of the mobs to be picked away at by the entire group, once again, usually dominated by higher level players, and very little experience is actually awarded to those who can get it. I wonder if there isn't some kind of mass party system or experience share that could be implemented, where the mobs give more experience but it is shared by all present. Or even, by everyone who hit the mob. Again, this is more just speculation on a potential issue I see that could possibly be fixed, and some ideas that I feel may be a possible solution.
I would like this to be a substantial conversation and would greatly appreciate it if we can keep it that way. What I mean by that is please do not reply if you do not have something to contribute other than get over it, don't like it don't come, or any other pointless remarks.
