I was trying exchange my ingots for coins at spawn and neither right nor left click worked. In an attempt to trade, I broke a shop sign and blank sign came up in its place. It would be important to replace that, and explain to me the shopping procedure if it's not just clicking.

The sign is client side only, as digger wrote. It will be there if you relog.
Trade is not working if you have used stealth.
